Si chiama angolo ciascuna delle due parti del piano in cui esso è diviso da due semirette uscenti da uno stesso punto O (incluse queste due semirette)…
Si chiamano così particolari coppie di angoli: ad esempio quelli supplementari, complementari od opposti; in generale si tratta di coppie di angoli per i quali la loro somma o la loro differenza è un multiplo di un angolo retto.
Tra le funzioni goniometriche di questi angoli intercorrono particolari relazioni che possono essere dedotte geometricamente dall’esame di triangoli rettangoli all’interno della circonferenza goniometrica, e dalla conoscenza del segno che ha ogni funzione goniometrica in corrispondenza del quadrante in cui si trova l’angolo considerato.
